Your Pet Dogs Vaccinations

There are several diseases which are life-threatening to your pet and preventive vaccines can help you immensely in protecting them. As per, APVMA (Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority), there are two types of pet vaccines. Core vaccines are required to protect animals from the diseases which are fatal and are prevalent across the globe. Non-core vaccines are useful in prevention of the diseases amongst animals of a certain region or animals with a certain life-style. Consult Pet Veterinary for proper healthcare of your pets.

Core Pet Vaccines

The core pet vaccines are primarily required for protection from Canine distemper virus,  Canine adenovirus and Canine parvovirus in dogs.

Distemper: This disease is caused by Canine distemper virus and can affect the nervous system of your dog. This disease is highly contagious gastroenteritis and can be fatal.

Hepatitis: Adult dogs affected with hepatitis may experience fever and loss of appetite and may survive this disease. However puppies can rarely survive from this disease.

Parvovirus: Canine parvovirus is responsible for this disease. This disease causes severe diarrhea, loss of appetite and vomiting and may lead to death.

Rabies: It is a life-threatening disease in dogs. It is harmful even for humans as they can also contract this disease from the dogs. Pet vaccination is the only prevention from this disease.

Non-core Pet Vaccines

Non-core pet vaccines are used to prevent infection from Canine parainfluenza virus, Bordetella bronchiseptica and Leptospira interrogans.

Canine Cough: This is a disease which can be caused by both the Canine parainfluenza virus as well as Bordetella bronchiseptica. The dogs may have persistent coughing and it can last for weeks.
