Ski Tubes

There are Deck-tubes available which are similar to typical mattress on which you can lie on your stomach and enjoy the ride. Ride-in tubes are like small boats in which you can sit snuggly and experience the ride. Then there are customized specialty ski-tubes also available which come in various shapes and sizes.

Precautions and Safety

Ski-tubes for water sports are fun but you need to take certain precautions to ensure safety during the ride. The boat being used for towing the ski-tube should be in proper condition.

It should have the rear-view mirror, ski-safety flag, life-jackets, medical kit and radio or mobile phone which can be used to ask for support in case of emergency. The towing rope should not have worn out. The length of the rope should be ideally 50-60 feet but never less than 20 feet.

The ski-tube should be properly inflated as a misshaped tube may behave erratically. Ski-tubes should always be used in an open area and water level should not be less than 5-6 feet. This avoids collision with other hazardous objects and ensures your safety.

Adding creatine powders in your daily diet will boost your energy and alertness so you could respond quickly to situations that may lead to accidents.

Care and maintenance

Ski-tubes should always be properly inflated before use. Over-inflated tubes can permanently lose their original shape. Ski-tubes should be cleaned with soft detergent or soap to remove dirt. A strong cleaning agent may discolor the outer cover and damage the fabric also. The ski-tubes should be dried completely before storing in a cool dry area. Precautions should be taken to avoid damage to the tubes from rodents and vermin.
