How Will You Know if Your Lenses are Severely Damaged

If you are wearing contact lenses regularly, then it is extremely important that you take a note of their expiry date. However, it could be a bit tricky to find out as to when they are nearing their expiration or severely damaged. It is crucial to know and understand the details when you buy contact lens. It is not uncommon to continue using contacts even after they are severely damaged, but it is not recommended. Some very serious issues may develop if you wear damaged lenses. So make sure to note the signs of damaged lenses.

Supplier Box

The simplest and the easiest way to check if your contacts are damaged is by checking the supplier box inside which your contact lenses were packed. Usually, there are six lenses in every box. The exterior of the box always have your prescription and the date of expiration printed on it. Needless to say, if it has gone beyond the date, make sure you buy a new pair of lenses. There are a few kinds of lenses available, such as daily, bi-weekly or monthly.

Always ensure that you dispose of daily lenses at the end of the day. Then if you are using bi-weekly or monthly lenses, make sure to change them after two weeks or every month. If nothing is printed on the box, just keep a track of how long you are using and then change them accordingly. And make sure you take your physician’s advice before you go and buy contact lens from any shop.
